Nice detailed review of the Prime throttle assembly. 👍
On the @Gravesport switch assembly is there no way to utilize 3 of the buttons to your configuration and just not worry about the other 2?

Grvaes products are no joke and although they're priced higher than some the quality of the work and little details are worth the purchase. 🤙

This is what I get for straying away from @Gravesport 🤣

$300 for the throttle + switches from JetPrime and the Graves throttle is only $150 which leaves me some cash to figure out what switch to use.

I know this is silly, but I really want to get a compact set of 3 switches that mounts on the bar itself instead of the brake master clamp. I have some work to do!

Here is photo detail of why the JetPrime one isn't ideal.

here it is side by side with the stock plastic housing. You can see the mechanical throttle tube stops on the stock one missing from the JetPrime.

And here is the Graves throttle tube with the slot that the throttle housing slot rides in. Graves machines this slot so that the negative travel is gone, but it's useless when there are no mechanical stops (as in the JetPrime)

Crisis averted thanks to @chris838 who drove down to San Diego, bought me lunch and then took the tour of my shop while geeking out over ZX-4RR stuff together.

I was going to order the other JetPrime throttle and switch assembly, but he graciously gave me his and I'll be replacing it for him this week.

Great meeting you and thanks for hooking me up Chris! 🙇🏻

Ok, I gotta admit the 60 degree quick throttle feels really nice compared to the 90 degree twist of the stock one. I can't wait to ride and try it out.

They don't match with black on the left and grey on the right but I don't mind. It's a functional upgrade and it's ok...I'm happy with it.

The @Gravesport aluminum throttle housing is superior to the JetPrime aluminum throttle housing. Just by looking at the Graves drawing I can see a couple design features that are missing on the JetPrime one.

1. Graves has duplicated the mechanical stops from the stock housing into their design.

This has two consequences. First, the JetPrime housing relies on the throttle sensor's internal mechanism to limit the movement of the tube. This works but is not ideal since the second consequence is that without a travel stop outside of the sensor built into the housing, the negative travel at idle is back and there's no way to get rid of it even though I'm using the Graves aluminum throttle tube that relies on an external stop in the housing to work.

2. Graves has provisions to secure the throttle sensor to the housing using two self tapping screws. Although the JetPrime housing holds the sensor in securely, it's a friction fit which relies on both halves of the housing to sandwich the sensor securely.

The sole item on the JetPrime housing which is really nice is having the switches integrated into the throttle housing.

I may have to think about what my next move is, but I can't recommend the JetPrime throttle housing based on these shortcomings. Does it work? Yes. Is it optimal or ideal? Not really. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Get Graves to make the switch part of the Graves throttle housing or get switches that mount to the back of the master cylinder. That’s what I’m thinking

@Chuck Graves next I'll also need a solution for removing the ignition key too! I can't believe I'm going whole hog on track only mode but excited to see how light it can get.
The five button right switch is designed to remove the key switch. Green is main power, red is run stop, black is starter, Yellow is select, blue is pit road or right turn signal

Now that's the way to do it. 👍🏼 simple and clean with no external switch for main power.
See, that’s why you need the 5 button one over the 3.

I suppose Graves should make a switch set up designed for all street functions.
That would be nice.
I may have to break my pledge to stop spending if so. 🥺

Mundane update for today.

Finally replaced the fuel tank to frame steel fasteners with titanium.

Image

Titanium for the left side JetPrime button housing bolts.

Image

And my favorite, some beautiful hex head titanium for the Graves right side engine cover protection.

The fairing stay has these two 10mm steel spacers that I wanted to remove and install shorter ti bolts.

Image

Here's one in one out to show where they go.

Image

1 full ounce just by ditching these, and that's not including the savings from shorter bolts.

Image

Might as well replace all the Bitubo damper bolts too, right?

Image

Took the opportunity to rotate the damper so the logo is more visible and aligned when looking at it from the top. 😎

I'm working in that area today as well.. I'm still puzzled over the Graves instructions.

Image

This can not fit like that. I cant drop the fork leg anyway at the moment.. Yours was on the right side, over or under the lower triple clamp?

edit: ok, found your video again. I'm going to try that tomorrow. Hopefully that works with the oehlins as well.
