When I got Swampy I financed him since Kawasaki had a finance option at 1.9%. Since 1.9% on the loan was less than the 5% I was getting on my high yeild savings acount I financed him. I got tired of making the payments and paid him off. It’s nice to have that one less payment.
YUP.no loan =5 HP (y)
Today I found a nice envelope in the mailbox from DMV. I now have Swampy’s title.

 what happened if I may ask?
I slipped and fell with all my weight on one knee on a concrete floor. It was, and still is, sore. This morning I called into work and told them I couldnt make it today. I then went and had it checked out. I broke that knee cap. They sent me home with a knee brace and the crutches. They‘ve refered me to a orthopedic specialist for treatment. I‘m not allowed to bend my knee, so to motorcycle riding for now.

Thanks. I hope to get back going quickly. Being a carpenter, I can't go to work until it heals enough.

Best wishes my friend. 🙏🏽🫶
Have a 🍻 and take it easy.

I broke my Patela similarly but never went to a doctor.
Work and recreation was very tough but I continued to use my leg while slowly working the knee as it healed.

It took a couple of years before I could put full weight on it kneeling on it but now it's like new again.

Please do keep some flexibility in it.
You'll regret it if you don't.
Once able slowly start doing body weight knee squats to strengthen it.

I'm no doctor but considering all of my injuries in life I shouldn't be able to do what I do so don't let the doctors keep you from putting weight on your leg etc.

You will know how much it will take.
It will take time to heal but never stop moving it or it'll be a bum leg the rest of your life.
Best of luck. 🙏🏽🤞

After initial examination, they thought I had just bruised the area behind the kneecap. They were surprised to see I had broken it after x-rays were taken.

with all the decades of riding bicycles on the street and dirt. The decades of riding motorcycles on the dirt and a couple years on the streets. Skiing, snowboarding, running, hiking and a lot of stupid shit while drunk, I only got a few scrapes and bruises. Walking in the garage stone cold sober on a dry floor I break something,

Eight weeks not riding after both knee replacements, so look on the bright side.

How long did it take you to get back in your motorcycle?

How long did it take you to get back in your motorcycle?
That was before I had my motorcycles.
But I was heavy into paintball where leg use and dexterity is imperative during a match.

Within a couple of months I was running around but only for short bursts and even then did not commit to anything that would hurt my knee any further.

After a full 18 months I was back at 90% and 100% at two years later.
No doctor, meds, or any outside rehab.
I kept working out and training as always while carefully strengthening my left knee in a slow manner.

I also worked on full flexibility like full knee bodyweight squats where you full decompress at the bottom to where you're ass is in the grass as they say.
It took awhile for that to happen and now I apply this to a daily stretch and workout with weights on these full sit squat reps.

My knees have never felt better and can now do what I couldn't do when I was younger with full sit squatting.
Our bodies are quite amazing and adaptable if given the time.
Whan we were kids we had no issues to drop right down into a full squat seat position and get right back up again but as we age we regress what was once simple to being less agile as we get older.

Anyway you're never too old to be lumber again.
You'll do fine if you keep that legs blood flowing by moving it when you can.
It's the blood that heals the wound not having it sit immobile as most doctors would have you believe.

But hey what do I know. I'm just a truck driver. 🤷🏼‍♂️😏

Today I took Swampy for a quick 40 mile ride. It's the first ride I've done since I broke my knee cap a couple weeks ago. It was good to hear Swampy scream.
