I think the Kawasaki Japan website is clear (at least with the SE) that it has QS up/down and the SFF-BPF like the RR. The shock sounds like a regular not fully adjustable one, confirming what was written so far.

  • center ram air system
  • φ37mm Showa SFF-BP inverted front fork (with preload adjustment mechanism)
  • Horizontal backlink rear suspension
  • Radial mount monoblock caliper + φ290mm double semi-floating brake disc
  • Integrated riding mode (comprehensive mode selection function that links KTRC and power modes)
  • Quick shifter with up/down support
  • TFT color instrument panel with circuit mode
  • Smartphone connection function
  • smoked windshield
  • USB power socket
  • frame slider
I do not see a non-SE ZX-4R at all for Japan in 2024 (may not hold true of 2024!): Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R |スーパースポーツモデル|並列4気筒エンジンを搭載した400ccクラスのゲームチェンジャー。

Also MotorStation explained the differences too I believe in various videos.

It is pretty close, yes.
I still chose the 100kg to get closer to my weight with gear etc.
The 98kg would've required a bit more preload adjusting than a properly weighted spring.
Initial rider sag is easier to set as well with a proper spring. 😂
Where’d you get spring rate data? I usually use race tech website but it seems they have old data and the best I can find is 2015 zx10r spring rate (9.7kg/mm oem, and 10.72kg/mm recommended for a 145lbs rider). Couldn’t find anything on the new 4rr.

The 4RR shock and the 10R rear shock are the same.
The only difference is in the spring.
It's actually a great shock and setting up a proper spring for your weight makes it even better.

Andreani does make a nice cartridge setup for the 4RR as does KTech, Bitubo, and any of these are better than the stock non-adjustable forks we have for OEM.

Depending on your riding skill, height, and weight the 4RR is pretty good straight out isn't the box for most people.
If you're a track day rider with better than average experience then upgrades will be needed.
I meant for the reply below to be for you actually. Where did you get spring rate data? I normally check race tech. They only have 2015 zx10r data, at 9.7kg/mm for the shock spring. couldnt find Anything for zx4rr.

Oh nice, you are familiar with motorstation? They film a lot of their content, including racing, over at my local track.

Absolutely, especially my wife. That is how she knew the ZX-4R would likely become a reality (ZXR400 was my only bike for about 15 years) years ago and we immediately planned that into our budget. She also commented a few livestreams and was greeted with a video response from MotorStation along the lines of "oooh Doitsunin / ドイツ人" :ROFLMAO:

I used the KTech site for the spring rate database.

They have this data for all the bikes listed and how I got my information on the swap. 👍

Such an awesome bike, makes me want to ride just looking at it. The little carbon details you’ve added rev me up!
Thanks @Chuck Graves. It's even better now with your race fairings and decal kit. My favorite bike of all time.

Still needs some ti front rotor bolts though 😉🤣

I finally got my bike last Friday. Took it for a spin Saturday and Sunday for around 75km each.
Does the taxi/speedo normally flash at 4000 rpm in all gears except 6th? If I were to guess, this is only during the break in? Never seen a bike that flashes that low in rpm’s.
Second thing : is there an online owners manual in English someone can link to me? I bought my bike here in Japan so naturally the manual is in Japanese. Searching it keeps putting me onto the .co.jp site lol.

Just one of the reasons I don't use Google. In DuckDuckGo I can select my country or generic search at will, search by search. That being said for any bike that is modern I do not use any search, but go directly to the manufacturer website and check the service section, works 9 times out of 10.

But in my previous post I was referring to the forum search.
