Just getting ready to clear check engine light that may appear after tune, didn't want the hassle of doing the drive cycle in California traffic.

Tested a couple of OBD to 6 pin converters and found one that works. Has to be a Euro 5 model adapter/converter. There was a certain OBD protocol the Kawasaki bike liked, forgot which one, but link is below on the one that worked for me. In case someone needs to read/clear codes. Some pinouts of the 6 pin doesn't work if you buy another cable, even if it is the same color. Also the OBD diagnostic port is the red plug on the bike, originally thought it was the black.

My iPhone OBD fusion app would also not connect.

All in: $40

I have the adapter cable and tried odb Bluetooth dongle I have for my pickup and it works fine on Swampy. I could leave it hooked up to the Swampy all the time and it can show me a lot more info than a standalone odb reader can.
This reader is nice to have.

I normally use the DashCommand app with it.

That's really nice to have and a valuable tool for thinking as we do in the car world.
That would be nice to monitor certain functions on the bike with the phone attached via phone mount.

Ive actually got a Bluetooth dongle and may have to try this. 🧐🤔

It will be nice once I get a phone Mount.

Also will leaving this plugged in drain your battery at all (even a little)?
Yes, there is parasitic drain, no way to turn off most scanner dongles. If you ride/drive regularly its not a huge deal. I left one plugged in my FJ Cruiser for nearly a month because I forgot. Its a daily driver and I had no issues. I wouldn't want to leave one in and park it for extended time.

Just downloaded the app (30 day trialware, $9.99), and in settings ~ units ~ pressure you can change from kPa to inHg or kg/cm2

Fwiw, ive been using this inexpensive blue tooth dongle with torque pro app and it works fine on the ZX. I will test it with dash command later on tonight

Took some bluetooth two stepping, as always, but got dashcommand working with the android version of the obd2 adapter I linked. Didn't run through everything but it connected and was getting data from bike.

Its a nice dashboard app at first glance for sure. Still like Torque Pro for diagnostic but need to spend more time with dash command before making a judgment. Ive got 30 days of free trial left :D

Fwiw, Ive got an OBDLINK dongle (like swampy linked) for my F800GS and they are awesome. Support advanced stuff that's so far not needed on the ZX mostly because the GS uses the Motoscan app that can reprogram the ecu / dash settings in some areas and it requires a "better" dongle to handle true two way large packet obd2 communications.

Most all of the cheap ones like I linked for ZX will clear codes if they work. If someone develops an app that can modify ecu/dash stuff for ZX (they need access to Kawasaki API and it looks like nobody public has that) then you will almost surely need a better dongle that supports true two way communications
