I rode it home about 30 minutes from the dealership. It started raining shortly after so didnt get a chance to go for a longer ride. I loved it and was exciting. I don't have much experience riding and this is my first bike so my input is from a newbie who honestly would be excited with any bike lol. Power wise it has quite a kick but like I said not much experience besides the training at the school for a week. Suppose to rain til Sunday and sunny and warm next week so that will be the bulk of my riding.

Did you put it in rain mode ? Congrats again and like said above, go at your own pace.

Yay got my bike! Probably the first customer-owned -RR on the streets in this town, as the guy ahead of me in the queue hasn't picked his up yet. Burnaby Kawasaki has been great to work with as usual, can't recommend them enough.

Only have ~15km on it so far, next up is to get through the break-in, then an exhaust and tune.

Thanks! I didn't see any other ZX-4's on the display floor. But to be honest I wasn't looking closely.... they had my bike waiting for me outside the front door and that's all I had eyes for.

My understanding is that the first RR they got in became a press demo, the 2nd is waiting for customer pickup tomorrow (but I didn't see it), and I've just rode away on the 3rd one to arrive.

thx for info! it seems I still have to wait some time. How do you feel the torque of zx4rr compared to R3 in low rpm?

My initial impression is that it feels a little stronger than the R3 at low revs, but it's not a huge difference. Maybe what you'd expect from the difference of displacement 321 -> 399cc; it's probably similar to a Ninja 400 in bottom end torque. It's completely gutless in torque compared to the 1000 of course, and that's fine. The exhaust is surprisingly quiet at lower revs, so if you wack the throttle open the main thing you hear is induction growl. Sounds angry! As the revs climb the exhaust note becomes a lot more biting. Haven't gotten up past ~12k yet, I'm trying to do at least 200km of break-in before I get on it.

I tried setting up the suspension last night, but haven't gone out yet today to test the results. Was disappointed to realize that the rear shock is adjustable for compression and rebound dampening, but there isn't a rear preload adjuster. The spring perch is threaded but it doesn't appear to be intended for adjustment and no preload wrench was included in the tool kit. My initial impression was that the suspension is too soft for my 95kg -- but now that I've added extra front preload and rear damping, I'll see how it feels on the next ride.

edit: the rear preload can definitely be adjusted, I was wrong about that.
