Around a year or so, just prefer supersports and i4 engines for the street. 600 insurance costs about 5x more than the n400 for my age bracket, and I like banging through gears

Welcome to the forum @Pmack! What has you the most excited for the ZX4R?

I really only put a deposit down because my wife wanted a two way quick shifter on a bike as narrow as the N400 with a few more ponies.
She loved the RS660 we had, except for the width of the bike.
I liked it(a lot)too, except for the reliability issues and distance to the nearest dealer.
She hates green, so this one will likely become mine, once Kawi brings the red or blue stateside.
I already told the dealer that if a likeable color is announced, I will be getting another.
A friend of mine told me to just get her whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it, as long as it kept her riding and doing track days.
That has worked out thus far, and who am I to upset the apple cart? I have 3 street bikes and two race bikes.
She has her N400 for street and track, and a new ZX4RR on the way for whatever she chooses to do with it.

A set of new plastics imported from CA will be cheaper than another bike but don't tell her I said that.

Awesome! Which organization do you race with?

I haven't yet.
I was going to race a Ninja 400 with Wera at Little Talledega at the end of February.
I wadded it pretty hard at Jennings the weekend of Feb. 4th. I am waiting on parts to get it back in shape.
The Daytona 675 needs some love before it is track ready, and I am waiting for new leathers.
Maybe mid April at little Tally?

Oh sorry to hear, something similar happened to me last season. Hope you come back strong in April!

I actually started on track with a Daytona but it was much harder to find parts so I traded for Kawasaki before I’d crash it and be out of luck.
