Yeah I'm modestly gentle the first ~600 meters or so.

I dont think break in RPM matters much personally, as long as you vary it and dont slam on the gas for a couple hundred miles. That cold start hurt though... it sounds good, would be better with a real exhaust

It goes against everything I know and do, but a lot of the old farts I used to race against never bothered with a real break in, and used to just hammer their brand new track bikes pretty much from the get go. They said it doesn’t make a difference, but that’s gotta be some kinda anecdotal fudd lore, right?

You can find several different opinions on engine break in online, so I won't debate that here.
4000 rpm in the same for every Kawasaki, doesn't matter if it's a 250 or 1400. The most important thing to me, is heat cycles along with varying the rpm.
